We’ve recently rolled out a new colored sticker markdown system! Just like you see at other thrift stores across Oregon, we’re using the system to provide deep discounts to our customers and ultimately get more materials reused. This will also help us clear space and make room for new donations, which means less materials in the landfill overall! It’s a win-win.
How it Works: Customers will start to notice red, blue, yellow, and green stickers on merchandise throughout our departments as we implement this change, and move away from our date-based system. New items will be tagged with the current “new arrivals” color. Depending on the rotation, the rest of the sticker colors will represent a discount of 20, 40, or 60 percent OFF the regular price!
After a period of time, every color bumps down 20% more and we’ll switch to a new color for incoming donations. Check in-store signage for current corresponding discounts.
Next time you stop by, look for the colored stickers! And don’t hesitate to ask a retail associate if you have a question about the discount on an item.
